Jack is the owner and President of FSI of Western Michigan LLC. He is the main researcher and writer of the Continuing Education and Prelicensing classes offered. Jack graduated with “Distinction” from Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business/Insurance. He has received the Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations from The American College, and is a thirty-year member of the National Society of Financial Services Professionals. He also has a Health Insurance Counselors license and is a Certified Identity Theft Protection advisor.
Jack spent eleven-years with The CNA Insurance companies and four-years with The Hartford. While with CNA he managed the sales brokerage office in Indianapolis for seven-years, and was responsible for sales and administration for the state of Indiana. During his time with The Hartford Jack managed offices in Indianapolis and Cincinnati, and was responsible for sales and administration in Indiana, southern Ohio and Kentucky. When not busy with FSI Jack works as an independent agent.
Jack has been married for 46 years to his wife Bunny, has four children and two grandchildren.
Julie has been teaching at FSI with Jack for many years. Julie has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years. She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) for 12 years. She held positions in Claims, Provider Services, Customer Service, and Sales. In 1997 she received the highest honor from BCBSM, Sales Consultant of the Year. Julie then went to work for Physicians Health Plan and was responsible for all of their large accounts. In 2001 Julie started the Julie R Balgooyen Agency, which is housed in the Waterstone Insurance Agency in Downtown Muskegon. Julie lives in Muskegon with her husband Jay. She has 4 children, Marissa, Lindsay, Dan & Scott. In her spare time she loves to Cook and spend time at their cabin.
